In response to the cost of living crisis Attwood Funerals is offering, from 1st October 2022, a Simple Non-Attended Cremation from £995*, to help families during the forthcoming recession.Attwood Funerals is a truly family run small business based at Marlpool Lane, Kidderminster.Mike Spohrer said ‘As a family we are very concerned about the cost of living crisis hitting Wyre Forest families this winter, we want to do our best to serve our local community by offering a cremation locally at an affordable price. Many families now are opting for a simple cremation because their loved one chose it or because they prefer a memorial service or family led event at a convenient time and favourite place after the cremation has taken place.’Kate Spohrer, Celebrant from Attwood Funerals added that ‘Extra services are available for example should a family want an intimate gathering the day or evening before the cremation this can be at our chapel. I can also create a simple ceremony with the family should this be required.’The package includes:

  • Completion of legal paperwork

  • A simple coffin of our choice

  • A non-attended cremation at local crematorium in Waseley Hills, Worcestershire at a time of our choosing (usually early in the morning)

  • Return of ashes to our office in Kidderminster

  • Collection of the deceased from Russell’s Hall, Alexandra, Princess of Wales, Bromsgrove and Worcester Royal Hospitals, St Richards, Mary Stevens, Primrose at the Princess or Compton Hospices or any care home within 20 miles of our Kidderminster office during office hours 9-4pm. For health and safety reasons collection from private homes will incur a surcharge of £150

There may be an extra fee of £82 for the doctor’s certificate if requiredFurther services are available for an additional fee:

  • Dressing the deceased in their own clothes and access to our chapel of rest for a two hour window during office hours £200

  • Out of hours collection £100

  • Bariatric cremation POA
