After a death has been confirmed and the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death has been completed, the death must be registered with the local Registrar’s Office.

Most deaths are registered by a close relative, although someone responsible for arranging the funeral may also be able to register in certain circumstances.

Appointments are required, and the Registrar’s Office will guide you through the process and explain what information you need to bring.
